Jeremy Lin was born August 23, 1988 at Paolo alto, listed at 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) and 200 lb (91 kg)California which is a Taiwanese descent . His parents, Gie-Ming and Shirley, emigrated from Taiwan to the United States. His paternal family comes from Beidou, Changhua in Taiwan (his great-grandfather immigrated to Taiwan from Zhangpu County, Fujian in mainland China), while his maternal grandmother is from Pinghu, Zhejiang in mainland China. He has an older brother, Josh, and a younger brother, Joseph.Gie-Ming taught his sons to play basketball at the local YMCA. Lin grew up in a Christian family.

He scored 109 points in his first four starts, breaking the record for most points in a player's first four NBA starts since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-1977, previously set by Allen Iverson with 101 points in 1996.

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS
In his sophomore season at Harvard, he was named All IVY-League Second Team after he averaged 12.6 points. By his Junior and Senior Year, he was voted to ALL IVY-League First Team after a career year with 16.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.1 blocks and lead Harvard to all time high non-conference wins (11), home wins (11) and road/neutral wins (10).[27] Lin finished his career as the first player in the history of the Ivy League to record at least 1,450 points (1,483), 450 rebounds (487), 400 assists (406) and 200 steals (225). He graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a degree in economics and a 3.1 grade-point average.
ROAD TO NBA
- He went undrafted in 2010 draft
- During the preseason games he averaged 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 18.6 minutes per game with the Dallas Mavericks.
- On July 21, 2010, Lin signed a two-year deal with his hometown Warriors
- Scored first NBA basket against Los Angeles Lakers and recorded 3 Assist with 4 Steals
- Averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals, leading Reno Bighorns with 2-0 slate.
- December 9 , 2011, he was waived by the Warriors
- December 12, 2011, Lin was claimed off waivers by the Houston Rockets
