FHM Philippines March 2012 Issue : Bela Padilla

   Kapuso Star and niece of Robin Padilla who is formely known as Krista Valle is the new FHM Philippines' Cover Girl for its March 2012 issue that will also represent the magazines' 12 Anniversary Issue.  Bela , a sweety teen star from GMA is now embracing the mature world as he covers the magazine. 

  "I'm so thrilled that I can finally share that I'm FHM's covergirl for their Anniversary issue!! (March) I hope all of you can grab a copy :)", Bea confirmed via Twitter.

    Last year, Bela won Miss Friendship and Media Choice in the Asian Super Model Contest held at Guilin and Nanning, Guangxi Zuang Autonomous Region, China, last September 6 and 7, 2011.

Controversy

    Allegedly  a citizen from Mandaluyong had started a petition against the FHM new cover as it represents racism according to them. According to reports, the petition centers on the black and white racist arguments as Bela symbolizes the white while the 5 girls surrounding here symbolizes shadow and black.

   After a release of the FHM Philippines' March 2012 cover goes viral online, some of the conservative groups condemed the racist magazine cover after a Filipino Internet user pinpointed out the "other meaning" it may generate and might affect the black and white people comparison. 

   Victor Bautista of Mandaluyong launched the petition via Change.org who saw the new Cover on his Facebook page last Saturday had already attracted a 210 signatures as of Monday morning.

   The Magazine's cover was Bela Padilla, a kapuso Star and niece of Robin Padilla was wearing a bright red swimsuit who position on the center while being sorrounded by 5 drak-skinned models that portrays as her shadows. The Cover has a title "Bela Padilla stepping out of the shadows". 

Some of the reactions against the Cover.

"Because no one should ever be judged by the color of their skin," user Marie Yasmin Sanchez said.

"It isn't just the racism, although that is a big reason. It's the perpetuation of the negative perception of darker skin in the country. This is why we keep buying whitening lotions instead of embracing our natural color. Worse yet, everyone involved seemed clueless why people are made about the cover," user Miya David said.

"Since this cover is very racist and would offend a lot of people, especially abroad," user Jim Chungalao said.

Jeremy Lin was a Pinoy Last Night

     An Article from the New York Times written by Gish Jen entitled "Asian Men Can Jump," published February 16   sparks the controversy regarding the lineage of JEremy Lin as mistakenly understand that here mother was a part Filipino or something to that effect.     This was saw by Joey Villar, a supposed to be reliable sports analyst had tweeted and was seen by millions of basketball fans in the philippines which obviously started the LINSANITY last night.

    According to historians, Lin's father is an eighth-generation descendant of immigrants from Taiwan, having moved to Taiwan from the Fujian province of China in 1707. On the other hand, Lin's maternal grandmother grew up in Zhejiang in China, and moved to Taiwan in the late 1940s. There, she married a Taiwanese native, and then later moved to the U.S.

However, Taiwan has the upper-hand upon the bragging rights since he was always visiting Taiwan back then.

ESPN racist headliner against Jeremy Lin

    The photo above was an actual ESPN headliner last Friday where Jeremy Lin had a career high 9 turnovers with a loss against the New Orleans Hornets and broke the New York Knicks winning streak to 7. 

    The column was written by Jason Whitlock with a title of "Chink In the Armor" were the word chink refers to the Asian which was seen by many as an Ethnic slur.  

    ESPN issued a statement regarding the racial title and express their dissatisfaction about the issue.  "The headline was removed [35 minutes after it appeared]. We are conducting a complete review of our cross-platform editorial procedures and are determining appropriate disciplinary action to ensure this does not happen again. We regret and apologize for this mistake."

    Though Jeremy Lin was not really concerned about the issue But some of the Asian society and Jeremy Lin supporters had caused a flurry of hate comments from different Social Networking sites to show their sentiments about the topic. 

    I as a blogger, one of the most crucial part of writing is the Title or should i say the Caption. I respect ESPN whole through out their career as they are well known and respected per Sports News is concerned. But throwing a racial slur on their headlines is somewhat a pathetic move specially to a Rising Star who actually represents a great percentage of Humanity.

A photo circulating around the world wide web is starting to be on fire as the alleged picture of Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos with a mistress named Jeanerica Eddun Bagang a Mis. Mandaluyong 2008 and a Startstruck 4 auditionee. 


Mayor Benhur a son of Benjamin Abalos also have 6 children.


The photo was dated 2009 and was uploaded by a fake account thru facebook.
