ABL: Air Asia Patriots' skills coach Billy Ray Bates fired by the Patriots

Former PBA's Best Import and former Portland Trail Blazer star Billy Ray Bates was fired by the Air Asia Patriots Management after commiting several misconduct and acts detrimental to the team and to the league. 

He was just signed by the Air Asia Philippine Patriots last december to be their Skills and Personal Trainer after being inducted to the BA Hall of Fame last October. 

But he seemed he couldn’t keep out of trouble with a reported assault incident in his condominium unit among his recent misdemeanor.

Bates’ agent, Sheryl Reyes, said her client and the Patriots “parted professionally” and the “issue was resolved.”

“It’s very sad that it had to end this way, but, as we all know, Billy is a survivor and he will survive,” Reyes said in a statement.

According to reports, Bates brought some girls to his condominum including a gay which he thought was a girl.

Known to be as the PBA's "Black Superman" Bates undergo several downhill after his successfully career in both PBA and NBA who ended up broke due to his personal decisions. 

The Patriots, though, hope to keep their focus on their next duel against the Indonesia Warriors this Saturday in Jakarta as they will try to bounce back from a defeat against the San Miguel Beermen.

ABL: 5 players suspended prior to the San Miguel Beermen and Air Asia Patriots Brawl

Patriots' Anthony Johnson, Erick Rodriguez, and Ardy Larong and the Beermen's Aries Dimaunahan and Junjun Cabatu are all slapped with fines and Suspensions after an all out bench brawl. The incident occured after a hard foul was given by Aries Dimaunahan to Patriot's import Anthony Johnson. 

The All-Filipino team match-up started with some physical motions until the Dimaunahan hacked Anthony Johnson who retaliated and caught Dimaunahan with a head locked,Johnson's action  prompt the entire Beermen's bench to aid their teammate  lead by Junjun Cabuto. a Ferocious shoving between Cabatu and Rodriguez also took placed prior to the brawl.

ABL: Beermen outclassed the League leader Patriots after the brawl

The game between the League Leader Air Asia Philippine Patriots against the San Miguel Beermen  ended in a controversy after an almost all bench brawl did happened on the second half which resulted on the ejection of the Patriots' main gunner Anthony Johnson and SMB Guard Aries Dimaunahan.

The Brawl started when the driving Johnson was fouled hard by Dimaunahan which the import didn't like. Johnson head-locked the guard after the play which prompts the team mate of Dimaunahan to an all bench brawl.

Both players were ejected from the match after referees conferred and the Beermen and the Patriots were called for technical fouls due to players rushing the court.

 Nakiea Miller had 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocks while Johnson had 14 markers before he was thrown out. Eddie Laure had 12 points and Al Vergara had nine as they tried to pick up the offense for the Patriots with Johnson ejected.

The Beermen took their seventh win in ten outings to close in on the top teams, the Philippine Patriots and the Westport Malaysia Dragons, as both clubs currently tout a 7-2 record.

Saigon Heat defeats Thailand Slammers to get their very first win

    SAIGON HEAT got their first win in the ABL after a stunning 60-55 drubbing against the last year champion Chang Thailand Slammers. Tan Binh Stadium was a jam-packed and the fans went nuts after shot after shot from Noy Javier to that  sent chills to the whole Thailand Slammer. “This win is monumental. It’s great for the city and country,” said newly appointed Saigon Heat coach Jason Rabedeaux stated.

    Noy Javier a collegiate star way back his NCAA Career shot the lights out when the game was on the line which eventually paid off and was adjudged as the best player of the ball game. 

   Boyet Bautista, a collegiate NCAA star scored 13 points on his debut together with their new import Chaz Briggs with 13 points.
