The Philippine Azkals beat Tajikistan 2-1 during the match in Nepal on Tuesday, March 13

The Philippine National Men's Football team known as Azkals roared at the end of their match against the Tajikistan after scoring a come-from-behind victory with a 2-1 score. 

The Azkals started the game with a tough defense against the 2006 champion of the same event, however a controversial goal was awarded to Tajikistan after the umpire approved a corner kick just before the half. 

Down by 1 goal, Azkals furiously started the second half with a goal which  came from Phil Younghusband's easy kick from Guirardo's nifty pass on the 54th minute to tie the game. With the Semi-final on the line, Azkals relied on their tough defense achored by FC Fullham second Goal Keeper Niel Etheridge.  Angel Guirardo, the controversial azkal added another outsanding play as he scored another goal at the 80th minute and raised their lead to 2-1. 

With the win, Azkals now advances to the crossover semi-finals of the tournament against Turkmenistan which topped the other group. 

What a fitting birthday gift for coach Weiss indeed.

Azkals to be rename?

Former Philippine Olympic Committee President Cristy Ramos and Former First Lady of the Philippines Amelita "Ming" Ramos wants the Philippine Azkals to change their name after the incident of sexual harassment were filed by the former first lady's daughter. 

According to Ming Ramos , the behavior of the 2 Azkals Player had destroyed their reputation and name so bad that the name "Azkals"  should be rename to bring back their dignity as the country's official football team.

If you guys will be given a chance to rename "Azkals" what would it be? Bears?Eagles?

Cristina Ramos allegedly harassed by Azkals Angel Guirardo and Lexton Moy

Former Philippine Olypic Committee President and the Daughter of former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos  had filed a complain to the Asian Football Confederation alleging that she was sexually harassed by LEXTON MOY and ANGEL GUIRARDO last Wednesday prior to the Azklas' friendly match against the defending AFC Champion Malaysian Tigers.

“As I called the players individually so that we could check their accreditation cards and kits, Philippine player LEXTON MOY (no. 25) stood by my right side and said in a loud voice ‘Must be a B cup,’ to which the players laughed loudly,” said Ramos in her letter to the AFC. “As I was the only female in the room, he was apparently referring to my bra size.”

“Additionally when I checked Philippine player ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) he stood in front of me purposely just wearing his briefs and made no attempts to wear shorts or cover his underwear. Again, the players loudly laughed while I was checking this player.”
